When the Dust Settles

I am following the AZ and LA battle with a close eye.  I still don't understand the standpoint of Los Angeles.  The new Arizona law permits the police department to ask for identification when stopping a vehicle.  Wait...I thought police were suppose to do that now?  Moreover, Why aren't all police asking for documentation from citizens around the country? (whispers) They do this already.

AZ replied to LA saying, "Even if the boycotts result in lost revenue, the odds are that the money lost will be far less than the $2 billion it costs Arizona taxpayers for illegal immigration in education, health care and incarceration."  It doesn't sound like Arizona is worried, and they shouldn't be.  In April of 2009, California was officially BROKE; issuing IOU's to grants, schools, and other government run programs.  HA HA

I really shouldn't laugh at this situation, but it is amazing LA thinks they have ANY leverage over Arizona.  Lets compare the unemployment rates, Arizona is at 9.4 percent and falling, while California is setting records (figuratively speaking) with 13 PERCENT and rising!  I am willing to bet Arizona will hit 7 percent unemployment when California reaches 14 percent.  Any takers?

America favors SB 1070 (Arizona's Law) with an astounding 73 percentile; 63 percent approve of allowing the police to detain those unable to show documentation.  Is LA delusional?  Are you in favor of SB 1070?  Do think there is a better solution?  Let me know.

AZ Threatens LA with Candles

I am thoroughly enjoying the Arizona battle with Los Angeles. LA in its infinite wisdom, threatened to boycott Arizona in official travel and business. They decided the new laws set forth by Arizona on illegal immigration, are unfriendly (pouting lips) and anti American (small tear). Arizona is doing the job our Government should be doing! Our Government is continually proving to us that THEY cannot handle the jobs they have. Why are they telling us they need MORE responsibility?

Arizona doesn't want Los Angeles to seem as though they aren't living up to their promise to boycott Arizona, so they reminded them they are responsible for a quarter of all electricity supply to Los Angeles. Arizona is simply reminding them of a simple service they will no longer provide if LA follows through with the boycott. It seems as though LA will be the new hot spot for candle lite dinners, walks, robberies, murders, and surgeries.

I am LOVING this response from Arizona. It wouldn't be fair for a group of people on a hunger strike to bring provisions to get them through the many days of skipping meals. It is only fair for Arizona to cut all ties with this city that obviously doesn't want anything to do with them. I am like a child sitting at the end of the porch eagerly waiting for the faint sounds of the ice-cream truck; I am eagerly waiting for the sounds of LA's response.

HELLO MEXICO IMMIGRATION LAWS!!!

I want to let everyone know the current immigration laws that we would be entitled to if WE were to immigrate to THEIR country (speaking mainly to illegal Mexicans).

1. If you migrate to this county, you must speak the native language

2. You have to be a professional or an investor. No unskilled workers
allowed.

3. There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools, no
special ballots for elections, all government business will be
conducted
in our language.

4. Foreigners will NOT have the right to vote no matter how long they
are here.

5 Foreigners will NEVER be able to hold political office.

6. Foreigners will not be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, no
food
stamps, no health care, or other government assistance programs.

7. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount
equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.

8. If foreigners do come and want to buy land that will be okay, BUT
options will be restricted. You are not allowed waterfront property.
That is reserved for citizens naturally born into this country.

9. Foreigners may not protest; no demonstrations, no waving a foreign
flag, no political organizing, no badmouthing our president or his
policies, if you do you will be sent home.

10. If you do come to this country illegally, you will be hunted down
and sent straight to jail.

I really enjoyed reading this about Mexico and their immigration laws. America is the greatest country in the world. Our government is way too lenient on the illegal aliens. Compared to many of the other country's in the would, we have some the best policies for our immigrants. The illegal aliens are getting too comfortable in their stolen beds; lets instigate YOUR immigration laws! Do you still think Arizona is asking too much?

Immigration, a Humble Perspective

First things first, I am not stating I have the answer to our illegal immigration problem. My upbringing was simple and surrounded with fellow Americans in a small community. However, I spent many years traveling the United States and I feel I have a decent understanding about the problem at hand.

Immigrants are very necessary to our nation. The current residents of America are producing fewer children than people are dieing and immigration fills this gap, along with many others. Our nation, like many others, was created through immigration and it helped us become the nation we are today. Moreover, my relatives immigrated here from Scotland.

However, I don't consider illegal aliens immigrants to this country. Illegal aliens are suggesting, in my opinion, our rules do not apply to them; our rules can be broken when a person considers the current laws immoral or unfair. Entering a country illegally is a crime, regardless of your personal beliefs, morals, and ideals. Our society established a standard and this standard must be upheld by all people found within our lands and jurisdiction.

There are many argumentative opinions held by illegal aliens and I don't have the space or time to discuss them in this blog. The argument I am going to cover is, "The pursuit of freedom and happiness is not a crime; murder is a crime." I see this argument all over the web, and I have many problems with this comparative fallacy. First, a criminal is involving or being or having the nature of a crime; "a criminal offense"; "criminal abuse"; "felonious intent." Illegal aliens are criminals. Second, people residing out of this country, in general, are aware we have laws prohibiting unauthorized entry in our country. They know this because the country they are coming from, will have similar laws. Hence the PASSPORTS we are required to carry ON OUR PERSON! Illegal aliens conduct an opportunity cost analysis before entering our country whether it is physically or mentally, and they are choosing to risk fines and imprisonment. Why are we the bad guys for upholding our current laws. We did not break the law; we are enforcing it. Will the illegal aliens want the law to work for them when someone breaks into THEIR HOUSE? Finally, thousands of immigrants are entering this country LEGALLY each year, and it is greatly appreciated. Yes the process is long, expensive, and frustrating, but this country is worth it. Moreover, it is the system we created and it must be followed. Illegal entry is a slap in the face to those entering legally.

Our country is far from perfect but I consider it to be the greatest country on earth. We each pay a price to live in a free country. Some pay more than others, but a price must be paid. There is no such thing as a free lunch! Someone ends up with the bill, and in this case our honest tax payers are the provider.

LA to boycott AZ

LA OKs Arizona Boycott over tough immigration law

I didn't realize California had the means available to boycott 53 million in contracts and business. This whole time I am considering California to be a suffering state in need of Big Brothers help. OK, stop all generosity towards California, they are doing great and are waving their hand to the measly 53 million generated through business between LA and AZ.

Is this really happening? Our states are at financial war with each other. One of the poorest states in our country is boycotting Arizona financially, because the state is asking the legal immigrants to carry proper identification? I am missing something here. As far as I can tell, I haven't read anything on Arizona in financial struggle. In fact, I am sure some of their prisons are CREATING income! Where else is this the case, besides Texas.

Moreover, We are currently at a 10 percent unemployment rate and the state of California is around 12.6 unemployment as of march. This is a great move by California, specifically LA. All of my money is on California falling off the edge of the earth, from their problematic tectonic fault, before Arizona caves to these horrific bullying tactics. Furthermore, Arizona has 49 other states actively seeking new areas for business and business relations. HELLO OPPORTUNITY KNOCKING!
